I agree, having managers who can't code directly manage developers just doesn't work. I remember one person wrote me furious saying "I guess you're saying my masters in business management is useless because I manage developers and can't code?" I didn't respond with my answer...Yes.
I do agree with other comments that the pronunciation is irrelevant. It clouds the article with personal attacks when the real point is this person, by your estimation, was doing poor work and the managers, because they can't code, weren't qualified to handle it.
